WHAT TO EXPECT
Our goal is to provide you with access to some of the most remote and isolated
regions on the earth and the opportunity to witness wildlife phenomena that occur there. When
possible, in order to enhance a participant's experience and understanding of the areas
visited, educational seminars and discussions will be offered on subjects ranging from
photography instruction, to conservation issues, to cultural development and other related
topics. Your expedition leader is fully equipped to take care of all the details of each
day's itinerary including meals, transportation and accommodation, so you can have an
expedition as enjoyable as possible. Finally, a traveler's experience will be enhanced if they
bring along with them a sense of humor, flexibility, a quest for knowledge, and a spirit of
The expeditions we operate take you to some of the most remote and undeveloped regions of
the world. We strive to utilize the best accommodation, transportation and services for our
guests, however, certain destinations lack the infrastructure and comfort most of us are
accustomed to. Still, the benefits of traveling to such isolated areas will enable
participants to witness wildlife spectacles and cultural events that few will see in their
Travel to these incredible destinations can often times be long and arduous, requiring
extended periods of transport over unpaved bumpy roads, or boat rides that necessitate
sitting for an extended duration. In order to cut down on travel time and provide an extended
nature experience, Wildlife and Nature Travel will opt for airline travel when and where
available. Accommodations can range from high-end hotels and elegant platform camps, such as
featured in our Botswana trip, to rustic bush camps in the heart of a jungle, such as in our
trip to the WWF camp to visit the eastern lowland gorillas of Central African Republic.
Weather or other unforeseen circumstances can cause delays or changes in our itineraries. At
such times, we will do our best to find an appropriate course of action to achieve our
destination objective or find a suitable alternative.
All meals and program excursions are generally included, and we will do our best to
accommodate those with special dietary needs. Certain excursions can and do require modest
to large amounts of physical exertion. Participants in trekking expeditions must be fully
mobile, able to hike three miles a day or walk for two hours in sun, or high humidity
environment while carrying a backpack with camera gear (if so desired) and water.
RESERVATIONS & PAYMENT
Participant may reserve space on a tour by email or phone. A booking is not confirmed
until Participant receives written confirmation from WANT Expeditions, which is not issued
until after the 30% deposit is received. There is no contract for services between
Participant and us without such written confirmation. We reserve the right to treat any reservation
that is not fully paid according to the reservation and payment terms as a cancellation and subject
to the cancellation terms below.
A deposit of 30% percent of the total trip cost per person is due within ten (10) days of our receipt
of your booking request. Final payment is due no later than 90 days prior to departure. If the
booking is made less than 120 days prior to departure, the entire tour cost must be paid at the time of booking.
Payments for deposits can only be made by wire transfer, cash, credit card or check and must be received by
us or our bank by the payment deadlines set forth in your itinerary. Final balance payments must be made by
wire transfer or check and must be received by us or our bank by the final balance deadline. We are not
responsible for bank wire fees or rush mail delivery.
CANCELLATIONS BY YOU AND REFUNDS
To cancel a booking, you must submit the request to WANT Expeditions in writing by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Cancellation fees will be applied per person according to the following schedule, based on the date WANT Expeditions
receives the written notification, not when Participant sends it:
-Cancellations received up to 90 days prior to the tour departure date are refunded less an administrative fee of $500 per person.
-If cancellation is received 90 days or less prior to departure, all deposits and tariffs are forfeited.
-Note that any non-refundable deposits made to third party suppliers and third party cancellation fees will be subtracted from any refunds due under this section.
We and our independent suppliers reserve the right to refuse any booking from prospective clients whom we consider
unsuitable for the type of travel to be undertaken. No refunds will be provided for any unused portion of a tour
once the tour begins, including if Participant leaves a tour for any reason, misses the tour's departure date,
or has to be removed from a tour. There are no exceptions to this cancellation and refund policy, including for
reasons related to weather, terrorism, civil strife, personal, family or medical emergencies or any other
circumstances beyond our control. For this reason, we strongly encourage you to purchase trip cancellation and
interruption insurance at the time of booking.
CHANGES BY YOU
Changes after your booking is confirmed can be quite disruptive given the nature of our itineraries.
If you request to change your tour dates or alter your itinerary after we confirm your booking, we will try to
accommodate your request. Changes are entirely within our discretion, however, if we are able to make such changes,
a change fee will be imposed. The type and scope of change dictates the amount of the change fee. Our outside suppliers,
including hotels, often impose additional fees or penalties for changes and cancellations. These are included in the
change fee and can be substantial.
ALTERATIONS OR CANCELLATION AFTER COMMENCEMENT OF TRAVEL
We will forward any alteration that you request after your tour has commenced to our independent suppliers.
We will work with our suppliers to try and accommodate reasonable requests but cannot guarantee that any changes
will be possible after your tour has commenced.
Changes after departure can create severe complications. In the event you request a change, you will be liable
for any cancellation charges and change fees that may be levied for the booking of revised arrangements and for
all costs associated with the arrangements themselves. As a basic principle, no refund will be paid to clients
who do not complete a tour.
CANCELLATIONS OR CHANGES BY US AND FLEXIBILITY
We reserve the right to cancel, alter or modify any tour without prior notice for the safety and/or comfort of clients
and for circumstances of Force Majeure. You acknowledge that the amenities, accommodations, transportation, route,
schedule, and itinerary may change without prior notice due to local circumstances or events, which may include mechanical
breakdown, flight cancellations, illness, strikes, political disputes, weather, border crossing problems, and other
unforeseeable factors. If, prior to departure, we make a significant change because of a problem with a supplier (e.g.,
bankruptcy), we will, as soon as reasonably possible, notify you of available alternatives.
Any changes may require a supplemental payment from you or result in a refund less any cancellation fees and
nonrefundable deposits, depending on the type of change. If we cancel, which is rare, a check for a refund will
be issued to you less any airline ticket cancellation fees, nonrefundable deposits advanced to local suppliers,
and any other third party cancellation charges. This refund will constitute full settlement of claims you may have
arising out of our cancellation. No refunds under this paragraph will be provided due to cancellations or changes
due to Force Majeure.
DENIAL OF PARTICIPATION
It is critical that we protect a participant's right to enjoyment of their trip. For this reason, we reserve the right to
deny participation in the tour to any Participant or person that we, in our sole discretion,
judge to be incapable of meeting the rigors and requirements of the trip activities, or whose actions or deportment
we judge unsuitable for group travel. During the trip, we have the right in our sole discretion to remove anyone who
we determine is detracting from the Tour or other Participants' enjoyment of the trip. Any costs resulting from being
removed from a trip or being declined participation in a tour is at Participant's expense.
The quoted tour price is based on tariffs, fees, airfares, and costs in effect at the time you sign this agreement.
We reserve the right to increase the quoted price after booking if inflation, costs of fuel, labor or materials,
airfares, supplier costs, currency exchange rates, tariffs, government fees, and admission charges change. You agree to
and will pay for any price increase.
We are not responsible for the expenses that are specified in this agreement as your responsibility or excluded from you
trip. Further, any exclusions specifically referred to in your itinerary are also your responsibility. In addition, we
shall not be liable for (a) expenses such as additional hotel nights and meals not specified in the individual trip
itineraries, but which may be required to get to or from a trip's start or end; (b) expenses due to the delay of a trip
for any reason (e.g., bad weather, trail conditions, landslides, flooding, sickness, etc.); (c) expenses incurred in
recovering luggage lost by airlines, belongings left behind on a trip, or in shipping purchases or other goods home from
abroad; and (d) expenses incurred during your trip as a result of circumstances outside of our control, including but not
limited, alternate or additional nights of lodgings, alternate or additional transportation (e.g., charter flights to leave
an area), etc.
CREDIT CARD AUTHORIZATION FOR POST-BOOKING CHARGES
You authorize WANT Expeditions to charge the credit card number that we have on file for you for any change fees, price
increases, or supplemental payments that you incur post-booking. If you prefer a different payment method, you must notify
us in writing at the time of booking.
NO REFUNDS FOR PERSONAL EXPENSES
You will not be reimbursed for any personal expenses such as airfare, hotel or other travel expenses due to changes
in itineraries, tour cancellations, or denial of participation.
You are responsible for your baggage and personal effects throughout the tour. Keep track of your belongings just as
you would at home. All costs incurred for lost, misplaced, damaged or delayed baggage are at owner's expense.
INDEPENDENT THIRD PARTY SERVICE PROVIDERS/ RESPONSIBILITY
WANT Expeditions uses reasonable care in the selection of suppliers, who to our knowledge are reputable and competent
based on information that is reasonably available to us. Certain services reserved by WANT Expeditions, including but
not limited to, transportation, hotel accommodations, restaurants, and others, may be purchased from various independent
suppliers not affiliated with WANT Expeditions ("Third Party Suppliers"). These Third Party Suppliers are independent
contractors only, and are not partners, co-venturers, employees or otherwise associated with WANT Expeditions. You
understand further that WANT Expeditions does not and cannot control the quality of their services. WANT Expeditions

including its Third Party Suppliers, or of any other third party. Each of these Third Party Suppliers is subject to its
own terms and conditions, as well as the laws and regulations of the state or country in which the service is provided.
The liability of Third Party Suppliers may be limited by their tariffs, conditions of carriage, tickets and vouchers, and
international conventions and agreements. We will not provide any refund for Third Party Suppliers' delay, cancellation,
overbooking or strike.
WANT Expeditions will not be deemed in breach of this agreement or otherwise liable to you, by reason of delay in performance
or nonperformance of any of its obligations under this agreement to the extent that any such delay or nonperformance is due
to any Force Majeure. "Force Majeure" means any circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including without limitation
acts of God, terrorist activities, insurrection, explosion, flood, tempest, forceful wind, fire or accident, war or threat
of war declared or undeclared, sabotage, civil disturbance, labor strikes, requisition, sickness, quarantine, government
intervention, weather conditions, and unforeseen circumstances. If we and any of our Third Party Suppliers are affected
by Force Majeure, we and our Third Party Suppliers shall be entitled to, and may in our sole discretion, vary or cancel
any itinerary or arrangement in relation to the tour. Regarding civil unrest, once we have investigated the prevailing
situation, as we deem fit, it shall remain in our sole and absolute discretion whether to proceed with the tour.
Unless explicitly stated, the tour price does not include travel insurance. We strongly recommend that you purchase
comprehensive travel insurance, covering the full duration of your trip, including arrival and departure dates, trip
interruption and cancellation, baggage, medical, accident/life, evacuation, airline failures and air ticket losses,
evacuation, repatriation and other expenses, which might arise as a result of loss, damage, injury, delay or
inconvenience occurring to you.
You are responsible for your baggage and personal effects throughout the tour. Keep track of your belongings just as
It is important that you carefully read all trip-related documents that you receive from us as soon as you receive them.
It is your responsibility to contact us if any information is incorrect. We cannot accept any liability if you do not notify
us of any inaccuracies within 7 calendar days of your receipt of those documents. For last minute bookings within 120 days
of booking, we must be notified of any inaccuracies immediately upon your receipt of those documents. This agreement, our
release and waiver of liability and assumption of risk and indemnity agreement, and, if required, a medical statement or
certification must be signed and submitted by you. If you fail to submit these and other necessary documentation prior to
departure, we reserve the right to treat your booking as cancelled by you and impose the cancellation fees described in
PASSPORT AND VISAS
You are responsible for ensuring that all necessary travel documents are valid and effective and in your possession for the
entire tour. Passports are required for all citizens traveling abroad and should be valid for at least 6 months after your
date of return. We suggest you apply for or renew a passport early. Other required documents may include visas, permits and
vaccination certificates. You assume complete and full responsibility for checking and verifying any and all passport, visa,
vaccination or other entry requirements. You are also solely responsible for any adverse consequences resulting from
incomplete or defective documentation. While we may provide information or advice on matters such as visas, vaccinations,
climate, clothing, baggage and special equipment in good faith as a courtesy to you, we are not responsible for any errors
or omissions as to the information provided.

HEALTH REQUIREMENTS AND MEDICAL CARE
Our tours are physically active, with varying levels of demands and fitness requirements depending on the specific itinerary.
By signing this agreement, you represent that you do not have any physical or other conditions that would create a hazard for
you or other participants or affect other people's enjoyment of the tour. If you have any dietary restrictions or needs that
will require special attention during the tour, you must inform us in writing when the booking is made. We reserve the right
in our sole discretion to accept, decline, or remove anyone from a tour (at departure or during the tour) whom we judge to be
incapable of meeting the tour's physical demands for his or her own safety.
We assume no responsibility for any medical care provided to you. You agree to assume the risk and bear all costs of medical
care and related transportation that are provided to you during the tour.
You certify that you have adequate insurance to cover any injury or damage you or the Child may cause or suffer while
participating, or else you agree to bear the costs of such injury or damage yourself.
If you have a complaint during your tour, you must promptly notify us or your tour leader of the problem so that they can
attempt to remedy the situation. Failure to do so while you are on the tour will extinguish or reduce your ability to
claim compensation from WANT Expeditions. Further, if you attempt to address the problem on your own without using this
notice procedure, you assume responsibility for any added costs you may incur and forfeit any potential refunds.
If you are not satisfied after using this notice procedure, you must submit your complaint in writing to WANT Expeditions
within 30 days of the tour's end date. Any complaints received after this date will not be accepted.

It is your responsibility to be ready to embark on the tour as specified in the itinerary. We are not responsible for any

license to use, re-use, distribute, display, create derivate works of, and reproduce any images, photos, or videos that

including but not limited to print, electronic media, or Internet, free of charge and without your right to inspection
to promote, publicize or market our travel products and services worldwide. You also acknowledge and agree that we or
other parties, including but not limited to the guides on our trips, our Third Party Suppliers and other participants,
may during your trip take or create images, photos, sound recordings and videos in any format that contain or feature you
or the Child (collectively, "Trip Images of You"). These images may contain your or the Child's name, likeness, identity,
photographic image, videographic image or oral or recorded statements. You agree that we, the guides, and our Third Party
Suppliers may use these Images for any purpose, including to promote and publicize our travel products and services, and
grant us a perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide, irrevocable license to use such images without your prior inspection. If
you prefer your or your Child's likeness not be used, you must notify us in writing prior to your trip's departure date.
Copyright in all photographs, video and related materials created by you during your trip will belong to you upon creation,
subject to the licenses stated herein.
LIMITATION OF REMEDIES
You agree that the sole remedy for any default by WANT Expeditions arising under this agreement shall be the return of
the paid tour cost, to the extent consistent with applicable law. To the maximum extent permitted under applicable law,
we shall not be liable for any special, consequential, indirect, incidental or other damages arising out of or in any
way connected to this agreement, including lost profits, whether such damages arise in contract, negligence, tort, under
statute, in equity, at law, or otherwise, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. You expressly
waive any right you may have to recover such damages.

You agree that any dispute arising out of, in connection with, or relating to this agreement and/or the transactions and
relationships among the parties contemplated by this agreement shall be resolved exclusively by binding arbitration. The
binding arbitration shall take place in Traverse City, Michigan, in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration
Association. Such proceedings will be governed by substantive (but not procedural) Michigan law. The arbitrator and not
any federal, state or local court or agency shall have exclusive authority to resolve any dispute relating to the
interpretation, applicability, enforceability, conscionability, or formation of this contract, including but not limited
to any claim that all or any of this contract is void or voidable. Nothing in this provision prevents either party from

If any provision of this agreement shall be unenforceable or invalid under any applicable law, such unenforceability or
